This is an ULTRA unboxing of the ARCTIC P531 5.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset. It is not a simulated 5.1 Surround Sound, it is TRUE. Yay new equipment to replace the broken old one. At the end I was going to explain how screen capture devices tend to record mics rather the output and me trying to figure all that out so I can start recording my LP again.

As requested Mic Check of the Corsair Vengeance 1500! The mic cancels a lot of background noise. Doesn’t have any vocal base but don’t expect that from a boom mic attached to a headset.

I plugged in my headset into a USB port on my laptop, all of the drivers installed, but the sound still comes out of the laptop’s speakers when the headphones are plugged in and nothing comes out of the headset. The laptop does recognize that the headset is plugged in.

it is a good headset for the price good sound quality both ends of the headset

I need a compact, preferably folding headset for use with my 12" laptop, to be stored in the small bag for the laptop.

If possible, I’d also like the headphones to be good enough for listening to music, but that won’t be its primary purpose.

Right now I’m using a Logitech headset which works fine, but does not fold and takes up a lot of room in the little bag. I don’t know the model name; it doesn’t say, and it isn’t on the Logitech website.

I don’t want ear buds, and I also don ‘t want the kind of headset that hangs separately on each ear.

Any suggestions?

Also:

Which is better, the kind with headphone & microphone jacks, or USB? Does it not matter as long as your laptop has the right ports?

Ok so I have this new Logitech microphone (not headset). It is a USB plug in. I also have a Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop (if that helps).

I am not good with computers and I went to go set it up on my computer. Or install it, whatever. When I did it said that it was working good and all that stuff.
So far the Mic only works on Narrating my videos on Windows Movie Maker. Nothing else. Is it possible that I didn’t install it right?
I went onto video chat on AIM 6 to talk to my sister who is out of town. She has a Mac. When I do the video chat it works. I can see her. She can see me. I can hear her (she has built in mic). But she can’t hear me. I have tried muting and un muting it. I have checked the volume. She has checked the volume. I think I need to re-install it or something, but I don’t know what. I don’t have the box or the instructions anymore. I dont know why my mic doesn’t work
